The Doña Ana Photography Club is a group of photographers and people interested in photography. Our meetings offer technical presentations, friendly suggestions for improving your photos, networking, and other activities for a wide spectrum of photographers and abilities.

May 6th: Storm Sermay will present "Lightroom - 5 basic tools" and Debbie Hands will present "A Camera Raw Photoshop Workflow". Also the Quarterly Print Contest will be held. See Quarterly Print Contest PDF for complete details.
May 20th: Meeting will consist of "DAPC Business" and Mike Stephensr will present "50 Years through the View Finder - Wildlife and Zoo photography".

DAPC 2014 Photo of the Year Competition will be held November 18th. Its never to early to start shooting the winner photo! The Doña Ana Photography Club will have an exhibit of the winners of the 2013 Photograph of the Year and Photographer of the Year at the Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park. The exhibit will open on Saturday March 1st at 1pm in the Concession Room of the park. Both the Photograph of the Year and the images of the Photographer of the Year will be on display along with some 20 other ribbon winners from the contest. Main Street Gallery - Doña Ana Photography Club has been selected to show works at Jim Turrentine's Main Street Gallery for the month of July 2014. Because of the size of the gallery, a limited number of photos (20-25 depending upon size) can be shown. Therefore the entries will be juried. So far our jurors are Mel Stone (Mesquite Gallery) and Dale Dombrowski (Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park).The theme of the show will be "Streets of Las Cruces". This includes buildings, things, people, plants, close-ups, landscapes, etc. Please don't limit yourself! The intent of the show is to encourage all photographic styles and to highlight our city. Will Keener and Jim Rodgers will have a photography exhibition at the Main Street Gallery, 311 N. Main at Las Cruces Avenue from April 4 to 26th. Opening reception will be during the Friday Downtown Ramble on April 4th from 5 to 7 pm. Gallery hours are: Tuesday-Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 9 am to 1:30 pm. Ron Wolfe recently achieved first place in the February edition of New Mexico Magazine's yearly photography contest. Wolfe's photograph titled, "White Sands," won under the landscape category. Read the article in the Head Light Deming Opinion for details.
PAUL SCHRANZ has offered to do two club workshops - A “Hard Critique” of club members’ images on a Tuesday night. Paul believes that the best way to become a better photographer is to have a hard critique and learn from it to improve photo techniques. and a Workshop on Alternate Photo Composition, 5-6 hours on a Saturday. National Photography Award and Exhibition 2014 -All photographers residing in the United States are invited to submit one photograph taken in the United States after January 1, 2012. This event will be open to the public in the Watson Gallery of The von Liebig Art Center from August 11 through September 26, 2014.
